Bill W. Gray

	Bill W. Gray, 65, formerly of the Mulkeytown area, died at home in Hartford, IL on Friday, August 11, 2000.
	Mr. Gray worked for General Motors in St. Louis, MO for 33 years before retiring. 
	He was born August 8, 1935 at Elkville, the son of Arthur Benjamin and Gertrude (Ponder) Gray.  He married Phyllis Lawrence on July 11, 1954 at Cornith, MO and she survives.
	 Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Gray; children, Rick Gray of Bethalto, IL, Cheryl and james Elliott of Cottage Hills, IL; grandchildren, Brad Gray and Chris and Chad Elliott; mother-in-law, Aleta Lawrence of Mulkeytown; sister-in-law, Donna Swain of Royalton; brothers and sisters, Marjorie Ertel of Citrus Heights, Calif., Mildred barwick of Elkville, Ilene Furlow of Christopher, Ruth Ertel of Megna, Utah, Rose Tow of Elkville and Robert Gray of DuQuoin.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Gray.
	Funeral services were Monday, August 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with Rev. Dean Guymon officiating.  Interment was in Mulkeytown Cemetery.
	The body lay in state at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service and from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Paynic Funeral Home in East Alton, IL.
	Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society.
	Gilbert Funeral Home of Christopher was in charge of arrangements.
